The Sketchbook Project

Received the sketchbook as a gift https://www.brooklynartlibrary.com/sketchbookproject . It served as a gentle nudge to regard the creative aspect after so long a displacement. I welcome participating in a crowd-sourced global call for artist’s books which will form a large collective resource of voices and visions, held at the Brooklyn Art Library, Brooklyn, New York en-gb.facebook.com/SketchbookProject

I realize that the sketchbook serves as another iteration of the RePlacement Project. The initial ancestral displacement and its manifestation through the generations took me to Poland to learn more about my mother’s identity. Indeed that was satisfied. But the return signaled subsequent rounds of personal displacement marshaling me into other geographies in search of place. I think the book speaks to those changes, moving back and forth in time and space illogical.
